WeScout is looking to change how talent discovered. We believe people have many important strengths that don’t come across in the recruiting process today. We are creating a process that allows us to get to know candidates better and to allow them to demonstrate their strengths.

Specifically, we believe the ability to for employees to help organizations creatively tackle complex problems and ambiguous/uncertain futures is critical. We are looking to assess those creative problem solving skills and surface high potential talent for our clients.

We’ve partnered with IDEO to design and pilot solutions in San Francisco.

We are looking for Contract Facilitators to help us test our prototypes and run pilots with clients. This is not a full-time position at the moment, but we expect some Contract Facilitator positions to become full-time in the coming months.

Role Summary

We’re looking for 4-6 Contract Facilitators based in the Bay Area to help us lead events with job seekers. We anticipate running at least one pilot per week in the first 1-2 months, but expect that number to increase substantially as we involve more clients.

The events require at least 3 Contract Facilitators to lead some small groups through team-based activities and document their observations. The events last 2-3 hours, and will include some prep time and debrief after the event. The total time commitment per event will be somewhere between 4-8 hours.

The events will be scheduled at least one week in advance and will usually happen between 8am and 6pm. A paid training for all qualified Contract Facilitators will be held in San Francisco in late September.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for perceptive, resourceful problem-solvers with potential to grow into leadership roles. The initial project is likely to be extended, and in the future WeScout will be looking to hire part- and full-time Lead Facilitators, based in San Francisco.

Perceptive, empathic Facilitators will lead our research-based process to provide candidates with a level playing field in the hiring process.

What you will do:

Create an inviting, inclusive environment for participants

Lead candidates through small group and individual exercises, using WeScout processes

Take extensive observational notes during exercises to document candidates’ strengths

Analyze your candidate observations, rating contributions and synthesizing your data

Use powerpoint and excel to lead sessions and manage data

Use your data and insights to make specific suggestions to improve our processes, tools and participants’ experience

What traits are we looking for?

Experience facilitating/leading groups of 10 - 20+ people with humor, self-awareness and confidence

You enjoy observing behavior and identifying patterns

Your written and oral communication is strong and you are easy to understand

You feel invested in helping others become successful

You take personal responsibility for success in your work, especially when it is hard

You are a natural teacher and can simplify complex ideas

You are high on the empathy scale, and develop trust with others quickly

You are curious and enjoy depth of learning in your personal life and hobbies

You are ready to work really hard in order to learn from others and grow

You have experienced failure and recovered from it

The compensation for this hourly contract position is $40 per hour.
