Solve issue with htaccess rewrite rule

Apache is the web server. We use a rewrite rule in htaccess to pass the url to php (for an MVC system). So, for example, when this address is entered "[login to view URL]" all requests run [login to view URL] with the full path passed to parameter "url", as follows: [login to view URL] When we moved to https we added a line to force any address entered in the browser as [login to view URL] to become [login to view URL] for SEO consistency. The problem: if the user enters "[login to view URL]" it rewrites to "[login to view URL]" but we need it to add the "www." and rewrite consistently to [login to view URL] with the url parameter unchanged.
