Custom sort in search and categories on Prestashop 1.6.1.18

Hi, I got that you want to add a field in DB and in that field you will put weight of [login to view URL] per weight search sorting will work so that higher n weight will be show in higher in [login to view URL] I did not get how will you fill that so i want to know more about that but got your requirement.
