Build me an App

Hello Irfan. I like the idea of your app, but I'm afraid that building this app from scratch will take a fair amount of work. I'm going to give you a very rough guide of how much each piece is likely to cost and if this is not within your budget, then we can discuss how you might scale back the initial requirements to help it get closer to fitting: 1. Sign up / Log in / User database - 4 hours 2. Matchmaking list (browse by the categories you've described), profile view - 4 hours 3. Chat application - 6 hours 4. Production into the Android and iOS app stores - 2 hours My time is $70/hr but for larger contracts such as this, I would be willing to work at $60/hr. That brings the total to around $960. This assumes that the product will be built as a web application using something like PhoneGap. A simple way to reduce the cost would be to not build the chat application and instead let people list their Skype or similar contact info. I would warn you that there are a lot of apps already like this in the marketplace but few have caught on. One problem is how you get initial users into the system (what motivates them to sign up?) and another is the matchmaking algorithm. I would assume that newest users are shown first, but that's perhaps not the ideal way to make matches (users who signed up awhile ago may be "buried" and not get any matches).
