Goal: take log files from the popular half-life computer multiplayer games and do the following;
parse relevant information (kills, talk, bomb deployments, hostage rescues, etc and who did it and when and where (what server)) from the logs
insert them into a a MS Sql database
do basic analysis and create statistical summaries from the information
generate some basic HTML output from said database output
**
Much of the parsing work has already been completed by others, you can review their GPL'd work (<[login to view URL]>) . We are looking for a tool that can parse log files on a routinely scheduled basis and do it quickly. Most tools use PERL - if another language makes sense, great. This will be entirely MS based.
Coder will create database schema, PHXX will provide numerous logs from various servers for sample data to load
This project, if a success, will certainly roll over into further projects to enhance this product.
