Hi Everybody! I have a two template sets (about 20 different pages - I am trying to overestimate the actual pages to be safe, there are probably less pages than this) that I would like to split up into SSI (Server Side Includes). This may sound confusing at first, but the reason why I need all of the pages done (as compared to just one template for each set) is because the templates are for a page generator that has tokens for each specific page. Some examples of this type of software would be Traffic Equalizer, Directory Generator or Niche Portal Builder. The templates that I have consist of one for Traffic Equalizer and one for Niche Portal Builder. For Traffic Equalizer, I have a template that shows how to do this for the left hand NAV... could be used as an example for how to do all of these since both programs are similar. This is what I would like to do... Set up includes for: 1. Headers (excluding meta tags - which need to be generated by the program) 2. Footers 3. Left and Right NAV (only Right NAV for NPB) 4. Adsense (one for content and one for search site) 5. A section for the middle of the main pages for content (after top adsense - before generated content) 6. I also have some practical/technical/general questions about the use of SSI's...just so I understand what I can do with them, and their limitations (Example: can you use an include inside another include? It sounds silly, I know, but I'll explain more later). My goal with this is to be able to have pages that are generated - but to have seperate sections to add and move content easily. As I wait for bids, I will try to draw out something of a template map showing my ideas. I am also open to any other ways or ideas that you might have to do this. I have tried to do this on my own, but have failed because programming isn't one of my strengths (LOL!!!) and I have spent the last two days reading forums and tearing my hair out trying to get this right. Please email me if you have any questions or if you would like to see a sample template. Thanks!!! Hope to work with you soon! :) Laura
Hi there! I'd like to work on your project, it could also be done in PHP includes which is slighly easier. Either way, let me know! See my message in the message board. Thanks, Tom Rix.
