I require a website design that will evoke a sense of fun and learning but still be functional as a site aimed at both adults and teenagers (13+) of both genders. If you are interested in this please read the brief below and link to examples of work you have completed in the past. This is not a programming job so please submit graphical portfolio work only. When we collaborate on the design I am open to you submitting low res watermarked works or any method you fee comfortable with, just let me know. However, upon final payment I would require the full PSD file so as to apply into my final website theme. Brief for website design: Theme The design should have a hand-made feel whilst still maintaining an element of clean design. Remember the family fridge growing up? It was white but slightly grungy with worn stickers and paper drawings stuck on. This is what I'm looking for, it's clean but there are elements of roughness there. Keeping in mind this fridge idea, there are some elements that fit this theme. Paper, tape, stickers, magnets, markers as well as grungy stains and scrapes all fit in here but not wood grain. Have fun, stains are interesting if subtle and don't draw all the focus of the viewer. Some sites that I feel do this well are: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] Colour scheme My original thoughts were towards a combination of lilac and green but I'm willing to leave this open. Remember to keep it light, gender neutral and in keeping with the theme. Design influence Layout discussed: [login to view URL] Note I do not want a clone of this theme, but I do like it's layout. I want you to read the brief in full and create something that you feel would suit. Header Layout (from the above site): 1. Logo - use a default logo as I will be posting this design as a later project 2. There will be 4 page links in the menu with subtitles, including the home page. Use fonts rather than images as when the theme is created these will be styled in CSS. 3. The search button most likely will be replaced with a login widget. - The logged out state should include a space for: -- 'username' (search field) -- 'password' (search field) -- 'sign in or register' (text) -- 'forgot password?' (text) -- 'remember me' (check box) - The logged in state should include a space for: -- 'avatar' (image) -- 'Welcome user!' (text) -- 'sign out' (text) -- '123 points' (text) -- 'My Profile' (text) -- 'messages' (text) 4. 'My Account' text will be replaced with a timer e.g. 'minutes left in the day: 320' (text). It's does not need to be positioned here nor does it need to be a separate piece of paper. It's up to you to decide what looks best. 5. The stuck on card works well for this site but don't feel you need to copy this site. Body Layout: 1. This is to be a two column design. One the left there is to be a large blank area i.e no photograph but can have some texture, and on the right we will have separate block areas. 2. Bread crumbs will remain 3. First block contains the following: - Title - Paragraph text (~5 lines) - An option to share/tweet/FB the site - A tab that can switch from text to a chat room 4. Second block contains the following: - Title - Strip of paper that stretches the full length of the column, allowing for padding - Save and Cancel button 5. Third block contains the following - Title - List of hyperlinked words (~12 words) - Paragraph text. (~2 lines) 6. Forth block contains the following - Image ad - Text Footer: 1. Copyright. 2. Series of one word links.
