New York Stock Exchange Make a text file with a list of all equity symbols listed on a given region of the New York Stock Exchange. The information can be retrieved starting at the following link: <[login to view URL]>. There are several regions: United States Canada Carribean / Bermuda / Puerto Rico Latin America Middle East / Africa Europe Asia / Pacific Make a Python function like this: def getNYSESyms(dest, regions): dest is the destination file to store the symbols, each symbol is separated by a newline. For exaple: sym1 sym2 sym3 ... region is one of the regions listed above, as a string: "united states" "canada" "carribian / bermuda / puerto rico" "latin america" "middle east / africa' 'asia / pacific" sample use: getNYSESyms(“[login to view URL]?, “united states??) -------------------------------------------------- American Stock Exchange Getting AMEX symbols are easier. There is just one file to download. Go to [[login to view URL]][1], then on the left click "Equities" then "Listed Companies" then "Company Description." In the page that appears near the bottom you will see a link "Click here to download the list of all Amex listed equities." Note that the file this link points to each day changes to reflect the date!!! So you will have to go to this page first, then discover the name of the link, then download the file. Function format: def getAMEXSyms(dest) Where dest is symbol destination file. --------------------------------------------------- NASDAQ ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
