You have to deliver a "tool" that is able to "break" a Wifi network. This "tool" will NOT be used for illegal activities but as a security testing tool with autorisation of the network owners.

Create OR

* Linux bootable CD that is able to boot on a Compaq 6720S laptop and doesn't use the harddisk!

Should be able to use the built-in WIFI card (USB wifi card from ...)

Should contain software that is able to detect wireless networks and that is able to "crack" the security key (WEP and if possible WPA2 too).

Clearly include instructions on what steps to take with the installed software

Best would be that the system gathers data, saves them to a USB stick (2gb or is more needed) and that it can do the cracking off-line (without a view on the network it's trying to crack)

OR

* Windows (Vista) based application(s) that are able to run on a Compaq 6720S laptop with it's built in wifi card (or with USB wifi card from)

should be able to detect wireless networks and should be able to "crack" the security key (WEP and if possible WPA2 too).

Clearly include instructions on what steps to take with the installed software

Best would be that the system gathers data, saves them to a USB stick (2gb or is more needed) and that it can do the cracking off-line (without a view on the network it's trying to

crack)

OR

* VMWare 5.x (workstation) VM-image that is able to detect the networkks and "crack" the key (all as described for the 2 above options)

Windows Vista sees the wifi nic as a "Broadcom [url removed, login to view] WLAN".

(we also have a USB based Wifi "card" that is seen by Vista as a RTL8187 device (to be correct it's a SiteCOM WL-168 Network USB))
