Run Console Program

I need to be able to run a console program hidden, and send commands to it, and get the text out of it. I need either a DLL, OCX or a small executable that i can shell too. The tool I need must be able to run the Refractor 2 console (hidden) and be able to read the text from the console. This is the first program I have ever written, and I still need to learn Database and ASP/PHP etc.. to be able to display the data over HTML. I don't think VB6 can be used to make this tool, If it is, great, it will be easier to just add to my project I think VB.NET might be able to do it, but i've never used .NET. I suppose if it is, there must be a way to link it with my program DDE, OLE etc... or just export to a csv, and i can import it on a timer etc..
