Looking for a FLEX and ColdFusion expert, or a really savvy hack. ;-)
I have a HelpDesk application that was written 8 years ago using Macromedia FLEX and ColdFusion MX 7 as the "middleware" and MySQL Server 5.0. It is hosted on a Dell Server PE850 using Microsoft Windows Server 2003. Old stuff, I know. The original programmers I hired to build the App are no longer available for maintenance or troubleshooting.
The HelpDesk application has, of course, a ticketing system and emails can be exchanged between the client and staff using a primitive email client-like function in the HelpDesk application. If staff sends the ticket owner an email through the system, they are instructed NOT to change the subject, because the bracketed ticket number is detected by the HelpDesk system and routed to the corresponding Ticket Activity Log, etc. Of course, in time, people do change the subject line or write the helpdesk address ad hoc, etc. And from time to time, this causes the email queue to fail to process the email. To date we have not been able to figure out exactly what causes the "clog" or to come up with code to tell the system to recognize and remove the offending email. It does discard most of the non-compliant emails, but sometimes it doesn't, and this can cause an undetected delay in processing valid emails. We have a script in place to notify an administrator (me) if the queue is clogged, but it does not seem to be working.
So, I am looking for someone who can review the code and, at minimum, get that Clog Notification Script working again. It should be a simple issue for someone that knows what they are doing. Hopefully that's you.
If really know you stuff, there are other enhancements we would like to make to the Application, like improving the email formatting and supporting attachments. Let's talk!
Thank you in advance for considering this project. I have some other demands on my time this week and there may be a delay in responding right away. But I will read and consider every bid. Please let me know if you need more information. I will try to select a Freelancer within the next 5 days.
