I only need answer on my Q below, so I can take the next step with my project. I have a Udp live streaming server at home that I want to receive and play in exoplayer. Camera-ffmpeg-multicast-Android App or camera-ffmpeg-broadcast-Android App. Both Multicast and Broadcast streaming working inside my home network. But also I want get the UDP stream to android app outside my private network when I’m travel or are on the work. (So I can`t change in theirs routers/firewall etc.) 1. Is it possible to make a tap tunnel or similar from server to receive the multicast/broadcast on android app with Exoplayer? 2. My network is ipv4, but when I travel it can be ipv6. Is that possible? 3. If not possible. Do you have any other idea or recommendation to make it work? If you can help me with the questions please write “I can help you with your questions”. The answer in questions 1 or 2 cannot be only Yes/No. In the answer you must explain how I can do it.

“I can help you with your questions” Answers: 1. Theoretically, it is possible to something like a UPD hole punching (see: [login to view URL]) to transmit the local live video stream to a client over public IP. But it would be a big undertaking, with significant development/test costs. We should look at alternative solutions, see answer-3. 2. Yes, it is possible with the proposed solution, see answer-3. 3. We can set up a live streaming server which could forward the video stream received from the camera. So, the camera can be set up to send a RTSP stream to the server and the server will expose this stream as a live video stream, which will enable any live video streaming player (including exoplayer) to access it. A quick search reveals that the open source Red5 server can be easily configured for this, see: [login to view URL] Please let me know if you have any other queries. Hope my answers were of some help to you.

Hi, Let me first explain about my experience. I have worked on audio video streaming app and aware of the issues one faces when in a corporate environment or behind multiple NATs. Now to your questions: 1. If the tap tunnel you are taking about is on UDP, it can be complicated and isn't going to solve your problem. so, I don't believe you can achieve this. 2. IPV4 and IPV6 aren't going to be a problem since these will be handled by the ISPs and the intermediate router and switches. 3. Yes, you can use an hybrid approach on your server as well as client. Basically, allow your server to stream on TCP too.

Hi sir. I can help you with your questions. ExoPlayer is very successful in terms of performance. It’s fast and stable. The biggest problem with the Exoplayer in the past was that the development process was not regular and there was no documentation. With the 2.x.x versions, many resources have been published in google-exoplayer publication. I have already developed many apps such as this. So I can develop the this app fastly and successfully. If you want discuss more, Please send me message via chat. I'll wait for your message. Regards.
