I'm starting a business and want some advice on what and how to do it. I suspect that small IT shops (larger too) tend to install the same types of systems and tools to administer their environment and some of this could be automated for them. (Monitoring, backups, nfs share, ticketing system, etc).
I want to know (in sequential order):
1) In your experience (which may or may not represent the greater industry) how accurate are my assumptions?
2) Advice on if my proposed solution to the problems I think exist are true.
3) Feedback on how usable my initial (premature) implementation is.
--I'll be interested in getting help building this once I get to step 3. Until then I'd REALLY like to hear you talk about yourself and your experiences.
