Implement VideoJS IMA SDK into HTML5 Canvas

I want the functionality of the videojs-ima plugin ([login to view URL]) to be implemented using the HTML5 canvas instead of HTML5 video. Basically, all of the videos will play via the Canvas element(similar to: [login to view URL]) and the other functionality of the IMA SDK will continue to work normally. The end result should be that the standard example given on the videojs-ima library page: [login to view URL] should work via the HTML5 canvas instead of <video>
