Divide a bounding box into equal parts.

I just need a simple function that when given a set of bounding box coordinates it will split it into X number of equal parts and return an array of each newly calculated bounding box.
Example:
const boundingBox = {minX: -74.0365, minY: 40.7034, maxX: -73.8299, maxY: 40.8916}
function split(bbox, numberOfEqualParts){
// calculate X amount of equally sized bounding boxes
// return an array of each newly calculated bounding box
