I´m making a study evaluating the randomess of some live roulettes. I have videos recorded of this live roulettes. I just need to measure the time of the first spin of the ball after the croupier releases it, and the speed of the roulette too, at the same time.
This can be done measuring the color of some of the pixels the ball goes through. The track of the ball is black, and when the ball goes through this pixels they are going to change their colour to 70% or less grey. The same happens in the rotor, where one can measure the change of the pixel to black or red.
I say pixels as the ball spins fast, and most times between one frame and the next It is going to skip the first pixel we took in the measure, so we need to evaluate at least 3 next pixels in this area of the track so we can catch the ball ( it will set some error in the measurement, but this can be fixed with a simple calculation, and it won´t to be so big that it will be important, maybe 0.05 seconds in the measurement)
The script needs to do this in an accurate way, so it has to evaluate the colour of this pixels at least 24 times per second, and by the moment it changes, set the time. Then, the second time it detects a change in the pixel color it would set the time too, and instantly by the difference will tell us the time between this two changes, what corresponds to the time of the first spin.
The same can be done with the roulette, setting the measure to 4 or 5 changes of colour, for example, so it then can be multiplied and tell us the speed of the roulette.
Then more develop of this program may be needed, but in the first stage, what I need is an script that measures this two parameters in a fast and reliable way. It´s easy as It can be done with the pixel of the colour, but the script has to tell us in less than 0.1 seconds the values of this parameters, and evaluate the color of the pixel at least 24 times per second.
I will need the instructions on how to use the program too.
This can be done In Java or C++, there are some examples through the internet in reddit and other forums.
I will provide the videos so the program parameters fits into the study case.
