Name: Online Library Management System User Roles: • Administrator • Librarian • Member Responsibilities: • Librarian: ♣ Can add, update and delete a member in the system. ♣ Can add, update and delete books in the system. ♣ Can search and see all the books and respective statuses. ♣ Search members and their respective details. • Member: ♣ Can search for a book. ♣ Make a reservation. ♣ Check for the books he has taken so far. • Administrator: ♣ Administrator is a super user above Librarian. ♣ He can add users and also librarians and do all tasks as librarian. Description: In this project we would like to have an online portal where all the books available in the library will be enlisted. • Users can log in to the portal and search for their books of interest and find out if the book is available on the rack. • In case the book isn’t available currently, i.e. if some other user has taken in, this portal allows the user to find out by when he can expect the book to be available for him. • Also if the book isn’t available in the library at all, users can send request to the librarian/management to see if library can get that book and make it available. Hence the management can take a decision and intimate the users about it. • Through this system users can also post their feedback on any book if they wish to (through micro post feature in ruby on rails). Final Expectation: • A very well designed application with an effective UI. • A report on how the flow is working in the UI and describing how some key features were coded in the backend.
