Greater Data is a data solutions provider based in Australia. We provide a range of services for different industries. Our target audience are marketing and advertisers. Please see our website for more information [login to view URL] PROJECT BACKGROUND - 1 Freelancer Required As part of a wider project, Greater Data (GD) has created a database of approximately 2000 Australian businesses which we need to capture and/or validate the URLs for and adding number of locations the business has its branches in Australia. PROJECT OVERVIEW We are looking for a data literate person to: - Validate existing URLs provided - Supply correct URLs if originals are incorrect - Add new URLs where no URL is provided - Provide daily progress reporting - Provide a final project report back upon completion DETAILED REQUIREMENTS GD will provide an Excel spreadsheet with the following fields: No Field Description 1 Known_URL Known company URL 2 Derived_URL Predicted URL based on known email domain. 3 URL_Match Y/N flag indicating whether fields 1&2 match 4 ABN Registered company number 5 RegisteredName Company name 6 Trading Name Business Trading name 7 No. of Sites Initially needs to be verified and updated 8 Validated URL Initially empty last field As a freelancer you will need to complete the following steps using the Excel spreadsheet provided. 1. Check that the URLs provided are valid – ie they link through to an operational website. 1a. Check that the Number of sites provided on the validated URL or do a google search to obtain the number of sites – ie how many branches a company has in Australia (Search Mc Donalds number of sites and you will find that Mc Donalds have 934 branches in Autralia. 2. If the URL is valid, copy URL across to the “Validated URL” field. 3. If they are not valid, search for the correct URL and insert that into the “Validated URL” field. 4. Where no URL is provided, search for the correct URL and insert that into the “Validated URL” field. TIMINGS Work to commence Monday 15th May 2017. Task to be completed by Thursday 18th May 2017. BUDGET Total cost of project must not exceed AUD$350
