Looking for energetic hard worker to design, prototype and test a Battery Monitoring System The nature of the request is to monitor a battery stack for optimal performance… There are as few as 4 and up to 10-12v standard wet cell batteries per stack (in series). The desire is to Log performance data; Ah and CCA values along with voltage, current draw and resistance of the stack and of each battery, with this information the circuit can activate status LED(s) enable charging, and or equalization to maintain performance ratios. The one particular thing about battery monitoring is; what and how do you monitor the batteries? The response to this question is every way possible. Information gathering about each battery is critical; the performance of a battery starts out with the battery itself, what are the Ah and CCA of each battery in the stack? Without this determination performance optimization is lost. The circuit must determine fundamental Ah and CCA values and determine if these values are out of range triggering a fault LED and thereby determine what battery(s) are at fault. Battery meters give voltage range of predetermined battery voltages; however a batter fuel tank and knowing how much fuel (energy) is available is critical LM3914 is as practical as it comes representing a fuel tank. The monitor must have a programmable capacity whereby batteries are never allowed to go dead (10.5v) but are presumed dead at 11.5v or to a set programmed voltage in order to activate charging systems. LED and LCD status monitoring is also desired Status monitoring is desired through the use onboard LCD and LED as well as BLUE-TOOTH and USB; all data parameters can be should be programmable and monitored Our desire to be open-minded to enlist program and development skills and technological innovation at every level to create an up to date monitoring system for this environment. Hello there Recently I have developed battery monitoring system project . This project is something like as follows. BMS features a de-centralized hardware topology which enables a very flexible battery design and integration in various different vehicle types. The BCU (Battery Control Unit) controls the MCUs (Module Control Unit), which measure cell voltages and cell temperatures. An additional HV switch box, which controls contactors and measures HV, is not necessary. The BCU consists of both, a low voltage and a high voltage part. The low voltage part includes a powerful 32Bit floating point CPU, and several output drivers to control auxiliary components like HV contactors, water pumps, LV relays, fans or charge sockets. A variety of digital and analog input ports ensure enough flexibility for additional sensors and signals. I think this battery monitoring system will be done and working well. Hello, Greetings of Peace! I have previously developed a BMS system that was slightly different than this. There I had to calculate Crancking Amperes, Internal resistance, voltage, state of charge. As for your question about how to determine how to calculate these parameters, I had used the following equations. Internal_Resistance = (No_load_voltage - Load_voltage) / (No_load_current - Load_current) No_load_voltage : Voltage taken when the battery is in a no-load state(Battery current is between -0.2 to 0.2). No_load_current : Current taken when battery is in no load state(Battery current is between -0.2 to 0.2). Load_voltage : Voltage taken when battery is in load state(Battery current < -0.2 & Battery current > 0.2). Load_current : Current taken when battery is in load state(Battery current < -0.2 & Battery current > 0.2).
