Hi, I'd like to help you with your book. I'm curious about a couple things. Why did you have it copyedited before having a substantive edit? I've spotted several (copy edit) mistakes in the first part of the M/S that I scanned. If you are pitching to a publisher (not self-publishing an ebook), it needs to be in a proper M/S format. Do you have a synopsis? Any experience/training with story arc, plot, character development, etc.? These are the basic things that need to be addressed before the copy edit - then it all goes back to you for revision and then it needs to be proofread. However, if a publisher is interested they typically want a synopsis and the first chapter or three. It doesn't have to be polished because publishers have their own editors and their own way of doing things. I am a university-educated native English speaker.
