What I like to do is use some brute force on the parts that need to stay. Dynamic equalizers to bring things to the front like consonants of the main speakers, grabbing the "meat" of each voice and giving it a bit of a push. Then, it's easier to start with the surgery required on the parts that aren't wanted. These sorts of pre-processing usually lead to less artifacts from noise removal and a more natural quality to the sound. Best of luck with your selection process as well as your project as a whole. Hello, I've understand what is the matter. I'm thinking to process the audio track with a noise gate that will remove the sound below a certain threshold of dB. I'm working with Ableton Live 9 Suite and I'm used to working on this material, especially when there are rustlings in the background during a voice recording (I work in a webradio).
