Write a Report

CASE You have been asked to compare the growth rate in assets and deposits for assets and deposit growth of two banks (DBS Singapore and Maybank) that are regarded as the potential takeover targets for your growth oriented company. Your lecturer will inform the names of the banks for making comparison. You are required to:  Give an introduction about the two banks, including its background, main services, market shares, and key shareholders.  Conduct a research about the banks’ service network, including its branches, ATMs, telephone centres, internet banking and online banking  Conduct a research about the performances of these banks in terms of growth rate in assets and deposit and profitability. Your analysis should include at least three profitability ratios.  Conduct a research about credit and liquidity risks of the two banks. Your analysis should include at least two indicators of credit risks and two indicators of liquidity risks  Make comparisons of the two banks based on your above analysis  Make recommendation to select the bank for your company to take over Submit a report presenting your findings, analysis, comparison and recommendations. 3. The report should be around 1,500 words, excluding tables, charts, diagrams and appendices. It should be typewritten on A-4 size paper with 1.5 line spacing, 12-point font (Times New Roman preferred) and margins of 2 cm around. All pages must be numbered and properly stapled/secured. 4. Please note that plagiarism and cheating in any form will be penalised. 5. Each report shall include the Coursework Grading Form as the cover page stating clearly the module title, your name and date of submission. 6. Readings: Students are expected to read ahead of the session plan the required textbook relevant chapters to write their report.
