Create an application to change permissions on folders

We have a series of folders that we need to batch change permissions on. The application will allow us to select multiple folders (up to 800 at a time) and apply a security model to them. The groups for the security are coming from our Windows AD. Right now this is a manual process. Here are the steps we take to accomplish this task: Open project folder Select all the folders shown Right click – Properties Click security tab Click Advanced button Uncheck – Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects Choose “Copy” from the dialog that pops up Click OK Remove all entries in the Groups field Add back into the Groups field: 1. Domain Admins – Full Control 2. Domain Users – Modify Control 3. StorageAdmins – Full Control Click OK This effectively applies security to all of the files and folders contained within that folder. The issue with doing this manual process is we have thousands of folders to apply permissions across. We would like a simple application that allows us to choose a list of parent folders that then applies the security model listed to the files and folders underneath that primary folder. I've added a screen shot showing the levels of folders we have and the security we need applied to them. It does not matter what language this application is coded in. These files are located on a NetApp Filer and shared to our network. The application will be changing the security on these shares.
