Develop an RFID plugin for Fedena Open Source

Fedena is an open source school management solution based on Ruby on Rails. More in formation here: [login to view URL] It has an attendance system where the teacher marks the attendance of students which can be further checked by them or their parents. It can also generate reports based on the data. There is an SMS option too where an SMS is sent to parent/guardian, if the child is absent. We wish to integrate a RFID reader with Fedena to automate the attendance process. The device will be installed at the school gates and the students will be carrying RFID cards. As soon as the students will come in the proximity of the RFID reader, it will read the data from the card and send it to the server on which Fedena is installed. The data will be sent to the server through a GPRS module built into the RFID reader. As soon as the data is sent to Fedena, it should send an SMS to the parents mentioning that their Child has entered the school, same will be applied for their exit. An SMS for the absence is already sent by Fedena. This will automate the attendance process in Fedena and should make necessary entries into the database for further report generation. Server with Fedena installation and SDK for the RFID hardware will be provided. Please include the text, "I understand this project" in your bids to differentiate from auto bids.
