What I need for this project is to have communication between a PC and a PIC microcontroller through a USB connection. \r\nI have a pump which sends liquid through a meter than through a valve. The meter sends out 424 pulses per gallon of liquid that runs through it. The microcontroller needs to detect the pulses sent from the meter, and count them. \r\nWhen the operation is started, the microcontroller will need to send out a \\\"high\\\" on one of the output pins. This will be used to turn on the pump and open the value to allow water to start flowing through the system. When the microcontroller detects a certain number of pulses, it will then output a \\\"low\\\" and turn off the system.\r\nFor the program on the PC end, I would need a user interface where the user can select from 10 different conditions (this would be used to determine the number of pulses the microcontroller counts before it shuts the system off) and also have a \\\"Start\\\" button to tell the microcontroller to perform its operation.\r\nI have already written this program to work with mechanical swtiches and a push(start) button, but I need to be able to make the selections from a PC.
