I need an nsis installer that will do the following:
1) the files to install will be a folder hierarchy of files, plus a file url,txt containing a url. You can define the format of that file. It could be an nsis include file. Optionally, if it helps, a file listing all the files to be copied. Also a file containing [login to view URL] to be copied and opened in step 10.
1) find a service in registry and get path to service
2) Initial screen "This install will update the service". Button "Release notes" to open the changelog in a browser and a Start button, and box to show path. It will never need to be changed.
3) stop the service
4) zip up all the files in the service path, except for folders "Dump", "Logs", "Backups" to be placed in the Backups folder, filename is MPABackup + date+[login to view URL]
5) alert the user the location of file, wait for 'ok'
6)the actual install: stop the windows service
7) copy all of the input files into the service folder recursively including subfolders
8) start the service again
9) provide a confirmation "Installed ok. Browser window will open to show status"
10) read the file with the url and open that url in a browser
Uninstall not required
Hello.
I have about 8 years of working with NSIS installers (the last one is for [login to view URL] including usual, portable and web versions).
As for you task probably I need somehow to get your service on my PC before doing anything, right?
Also need to know for what system types it should work first of all (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10).
Regards.
