The Job

We are looking for 3 - 4 blog writers who are parents, grandparents, grad students, or teachers and who have very proficient english writing skills and basic knowledge of educational theory (i.e., Zone of Proximal Development, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, Scaffolding, Cognitive Load), pedagogical practice (creating and executing lesson plans, differentiating instruction), and of educational research methodology.

It is very important that all of our blogs include summaries of no more than a sentence or two of the methods and results of at least one research study -- as this is one way we are distinguishing our company from others.

We have a number of different types of blogs that we will be generating:

1) summaries and commentary about the educational value of community events we (or you) attend

2) Critiques of popular books, educational products

3) translation of research into everyday language with practical advice for parents or teachers

4) Discussions of the amazing work of teachers or children (i.e., educator of the month, child of the month)

We expect you to generate 1-2 blog articles a month and we will pay you for each blog article you write.

Our Process

We or you will propose a blog idea and together we will write a short summary of the goal of the blog and outline of the content as well as the angle taken. Then you will generate a draft and we will give you feedback within one week, we then expect a revision from you within one week.

Application process

Submit a resume, a short summary of an educational activity you organized, and a short writing sample that discusses one empirical educational or psychological research study (include a link to the actual study). If selected, we will pay you a fee to generate a short blog article for us. This will be your working interview.
