EDX Integration Requirements: Key Requirements: SSO Integration: • Replace / Customize EDX in such as way that it uses a third-party (Institution’s) Single Sign On / Authentication Provider for Students, and other Roles in LMS as well as CMS. • • In this, when EDX is integrated with the existing .NET Auth Provider: • When a student visits the Institute Portal, she/he sees her admissions, enrollments, and courses etc. • The student clicks on Start Learning / Continue Learning, and the student is navigated from Portal to EDX LMS. The student sees the EDX Course Page. • EDX sees the student and at the back-end validates if the student is legitimate, is having access to the specific course/training, is currently authenticated. • If yes, EDX LMS enables student to continue learn or else shows a message – please login to learn. • Once student finishes the course or during the Course completes certain milestones such as Faculty Assessments, EDX sends such updates to the Portal (JSON/REST Web API) to update the status of Course. • If student directly hits the EDX URL in browser, the student will see the well-branded Institutional Login Page – no registration link/way. Entering the Credentials, the EDX will send these to .NET Auth Provider. • Once the Credentials are validated and if valid, then EDX Calls a web-api – GET Enrollment and the Portal sends list of Courses. • EDX shows these courses only. • Upon competition of certain milestones, EDX sends progress update to Portal. • Similarly, for users visiting from Mobile App • Similarly, for Faculties. If required CMS can be considered to be completed in Phase 2 to turn around quickly and in with limited budget.   EDX Multi-Tier Deployment: • Once the SSO integration is complete, we need the EDX to be deployed as a Multi-Tier Deployment: • A unified Multi-tenant LMS is desired for providing faculty or discipline based courses e.g. Executive MBA, Finance for Executives, Presentation Skills for Executives, etc. • Each block in the schematic shows a unique, single server. The multiple instances of LMS shall interface with the centralized DBs. This will enable the customer to separate the bandwidth, infrastructure, and seamless operations for the courses through the separate LMS environment. • The DBs shall be again configured for Fail-Over Clustering · Test Scores per course / subject · Expired Courses
