Need several games written that will explore a students understanding (or lack of understanding) about relevant portions of the course. I have the design ideas which I will share with images to those interested. In short, two games are being sought after:
1) Like the "Brick Breaker" game where a ball is bounced repeatedly against bricks until they either break or become bonus items (like lasers, bigger paddle, slow function, capture, etc). The goal is a high score. These bonus items, however, would have different functions in our game.
2) A "10 bottle mystery" where any two bottles can be sampled and the resulting reaction (if any) can be documented for later use in determining the contents of bottles of unknowns.
In later work, I'll be looking for flash (minor games) routines to embed in a web page for illustration purposes (like a graph that changes if an input is changed, like increasing heat makes the temperature go up, etc).

Hi Dr Beaker!
I am quite curious about your project. I have thought for some time that using video games as a teaching tool would be very powerful.
I have a degree in molecular biology from The University of Texas and so am quite familiar with chemistry concepts. I also have been into computer programming since I was a kid. I learned to make the most of the 16 k of RAM my computer had back in 1980!
I am new here today on GetAFreelancer so I'm not sure if this is possible, but, before you formally accept my bid, I'd be willing to correspond with you a bit on what exactly you want your games to do and put together something preliminary for you to review.
It sounds like you might have several jobs in mind for the future, and I am more interested in establishing long term business relationships than trying to bid as many jobs as possible.
Please send me more details on how you envision your chemistry games and I will get right back to you on what I think I can do.
Regards,
Chad Kimrey
