display qtranslate widget on home page of andromeda wp theme

I have purchased the WP theme called "Andromeda" from themeforest.com. I have previous experience using qTranslate with various WP themes, but cannot get it to work with Andromeda theme. I can't get the language flags to display on the home page/any page, in order to switch languages. In fact, I cannot get any widgets to display on the home page. I think one needs some php experience to fix this. I frequently require someone with php skills to help with my company websites, so this job could also lead to more work. Thanks for bidding.
