I have a DDE currency link from MetaTrader (MT4)
eg
MT4|BID!EURUSD MT4|ASK!EURUSD
MT4|BID!GBPUSD MT4|ASK!GBPUSD
MT4|BID!AUDUSD MT4|ASK!AUDUSD
etc, etc, etc
C# programming
(1) I need to read the DDE data link into a C# object
(2) Activate a call to a Method automatically on data change from the DDE link within that object . (Dynamically, no key press or click advent)
(3) There are approximately 15 different currencies on this DDE link, so I need provision for 15 objects or 15 variations within 1 object, plus each currency has 5 data pieces (BID ASK HIGH LOW VOLUME)
(4) I may need a timer of sorts that can be used to transfer processed data for further work. Is it possible to have timer in the background that invokes a call to a method at set intervals. I need a low CPU overhead timer. eg 30sec 1Min 2Min 5Min 10Min 15Min etc, etc
(5) As several updates from different currency sets may occur close together, there may be a data change in one of the currencies, whilst the data from the previous data change is still processing. Therefore its possible (maybe) a queuing method needs to take place.
SECONDARY ISSUE
The original system was in EXCEL and worked from a background timer.
If I could find a way to activate a sub routine in Excel through a cell or sheet change event, that was dynamic on the value change within a cell from the DDE link (not a click or key press event), then I may use Excel as the primer for a C# method call.
