Chemical Plant Design Software

The target is a simple but highly customizable application to assist in preliminary chemical plant design. The bidder should not need to know much about chemical engineering to complete this project. You merely need to understand that a chemical plant consists of many discrete parts (usually less than a hundred for our purposes) which interact dynamically. It is up to the user to define how those parts operate - all you need to do is supply a robust framework into which these parts can be implemented by a trained chemical engineer. The program should both receive input from and send output to Excel. We require that the user be able to specify the functionality of individual plant units, and we suggest that Excel be used as a medium for this. How to execute this is up to you. In summary, the point of the project is to create a streamlined and quick-to-use application that will allow rapid-fire design and testing of an engineer's ideas dynamically. Engineers can and do use Excel for the purposes which I've just described, but the process is extremely time consuming and difficult to edit or correct when done manually. Thus, speed, ease of design alteration, and simplicity are the key points. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows: as software which will be distributed by the buyer: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request (Probably Microsoft Excel). All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
