Ok, here goes..
We want developed for us a website which all-in-all is price comparison based, however in many different arenas. Similar to the Moneysupermarket of this world, but nowhere near as deep or as extensive a product range as they have.
The site would be divided into multiple sections, firstly the financial, similar to MS, however much fewer categories.
Money – Credit cards, Personal loans, Car Loans, current accounts, savings accounts, “bonds” and mortgages.
All of which we expect to be returned in a similar format to MS, with 5 levels of sponsorship (ie 5 - on the initial product entry page, 4 - top of the list sponsored, 3 - participants in the scheme, 2 - non participants, and 0 for suspended or defunct products). We expect 8-10 attributes will be required as a maximum for filtering purposes.
We need a backend system to support the databases to allow us / providers to change the products as and when their atributes change. We would be interested in the providers input particularly in this area.
Insurance – Car, Health, travel, home, mortgage, business
For all these, certainly initially there will be no live system to provide quotes. Hence static pages with the sponsored adverts, and information and the bit that comes in a sec..
We also need a secure back end data capture part to this part of the site, to allow us to take the client data, and then in turn forward it securely to the providers. Somewhere for the client to go to securely send the data through, obviously the form to be uniquely branded with the product they’ve just clicked through from (bank logo and product if we have it). If we can have this part remember returning clients (via login) to save resubmission.
That is where our similarities to MS stop, we do not want to delve into Internet providers, mobiles, utilities, etc… etc….
However in place we require two other sections, car and house
These are effectively marketplaces for both items, to look and feel exactly as the money section “sourcing” does, but with more info. People upload their house/car to the site with pictures, it then can be “sourced” back from the site. Similar to [login to view URL] or autotrader. Again, we do not want all singing all dancing over deep sites, simple sourcing, 3 clicks to end results, 1 more for full details.
We would be looking at a collaboration with anther 3rd party regarding payment for the uploads, however this is not likely to involve much work if any on the site. We just need the ability once a house/car is uploaded to have it “pended” until we can verify payment.
The main concept is going to be simplicity and easy reading, obviously we need banner advertising but not intrusive, and the sites must gel together, feel the same. (We also will have travel sections to sit within the sites, however those are initially going to be white label.)
I can go into much more exactly how we would require it should someone need that level of detail, please let me know.
We need to be able to work WITH a developer, as this project has a long future ahead, and will require constant maintenance, and as revenue increases those “bells and whistles” that we wont be putting in day 1 due to cost will be added. The XML travel interfaces will be developed, the online quotation systems need looking into etc….
We need to be able to review the site as its being built to ensure integrity, we also have methods for a “soft” launch where we can have a few hundred bash initially for beta purposes, followed by the full launch later.
Any solutions much be scaleable, if we are sucessful and need to grow the sites, end up with thousands of hits per day for any sections, we need it to cope or be upgraded quickly and easily.
Payment terms to be come to on discussion, however like everyone, we wont be handing over pots and pots of money without a working result, proper references which are verifiable, and most importantly…. A professional in every sense of the word.
Thats it, any questions please email me, I am moving around a lot over the coming 2 weeks overseas, but should still be able to catch up any emails but please dont expect instant response.
