The project involves the creation of an online Campaign Manager (from here on referred to as the CM) tool tied to a custom Business Model Canvas (from here on referred to as the BMC) (The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm's value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.) tool. Information gathered and used for the listed tools will be retrieved from and updated in Vtiger CRM (vtiger CRM is an open source CRM application that was forked from SugarCRM with the intention of being a fully open source CRM application with comparable functionality to SugarCRM and [url removed, login to view])
The CM’s purpose is the creation of questions pertinent to business verticals that are then appended to the beginning of the BMC (detailed below) or used independent of the BMC. A hyperlink connecting the end user to the first question in the campaign must be automatically generated (to be used on websites that are advertising the campaign). Every campaign has a start and end date with the system only accepting entries during these dates after which the link will no longer work. An export of the campaign to Excel is required.
The BMC is a predefined campaign that is broken into three stages. Each stage will create a snapshot of a customer’s business by only asking questions related to where the potential customer is in the vetting process. As the potential customer completes a stage they will be offered a PDF download of the questions asked, a PDF copy will be emailed to Aurik and the results stored online where they can be downloaded when required. The BMC stages will be presented on an A4 page with the answers to the campaign specific questions presented on the reverse. Each stage adds more information to each section in the BMC and so the information captured in previous stages is included on the A4 PDF download.
There are three scenarios in the use of the CM and BMC:
1. Questions are created in the CM and are independent of the BMC.
2. A lead is added to Vtiger via webforms. A field is enabled in Vtiger that is being monitored by the CM/BMC system. The system interrogates the lead detail in Vtiger for pertinent information such as company name, first name, last name, email address. The system creates a company user account in the system for the lead with a system generated password. A system generated email using a predefined template (for each stage) will be sent to the user with an embedded hyperlink that contains the username and password (encrypted), the user can use this link to access their questions at any time and continue where they left off while working on a BMC stage. The completion of each BMC stage is triggered from a field in a module in Vtiger. Customer data is stored through the stages.
3. A dedicated campaign is created with questions linked to the BMC. The campaign link generated is placed on a website for applicants to complete. All questions and stages 1&2 of the BMC are completed in one session. Nothing is saved/stored until the user saves/submits. If the session ends without being saved/submitted the data is discarded.
