Having been let down by my previous developer I am stuck with a holding page and god knows what at the backend. I'm looking to pull together a simple self submitting web directory for blogs within a particular niche. Nothing too complicated and with a little other functionality such as a feed of latest posts, "blog of the week", FAQ etc. In addition I would like to create a button that can go on the participating bloggers pages and potentially a "widget" that could be used to stream latest posts from participating blogs. Given that most blogs are operating on blogger, [login to view URL], [login to view URL] or posterous some knowledge of the technological restraints of these platforms would be ideal. I'm not an organisation, but an individual blogger so I may be way off in terms of costs and complexity but I don't think so. The domains are already purchased and I believe there are Joomla templates already in place via Zoo themes. But that will obviously require a certain level of exploration too.
