a simple game

The program should be written using visual basic 6, and be a very basic and simple program that a beginner can understand. Aims: To design and implement an interactive GUI based program to play a game of nines according to the rules. GUI driven by a mouse and some other basic features ## Deliverables Rules: 1. the game of nines is played by two players. Either player starts the game. The board is initially empty. An example of the board during play is shown on the attached sheet. 2. each player has nine pieces at their disposal. The pieces of the two players should be distinct which should be evident either from the colour or the shape of the pieces. 3. play alternates between the two players, each one placing one of their pieces on the board. Players are not allowed to move their pieces on the board whilst they have pieces in hand. 4. if a player makes a row or column of his own pieces (3 in a line horizontally or vertically) they can remove one piece of the opposite player from the board. The player, however cannot remove any such piece of the other player that is part of an exsisting complete row or column (3 in a line) of the opposite player. 5. once a player has used up all their pieces, they are entitled to move one of their pieces on the board to a neighbouring blank square, they can remove one piece of the opposite player from the board as above. 6. the game finishes when: -a player removes all pieces belonging to their opponant from the board. -their opponant is unable to move any of their pieces 7. the game will be declared a draw when both players are able to move their pieces but no one can make a row or column (the program should provide an option so that both players can mutually draw the game). The number of wins for each player is shown, as well as the number of draws. attached in the graphics section is a very rough draft of what the board looks like but as long as all the requirements are met of the rules if this changes slightly then it is ok but MUST NOT be too elaborate VERY SIMPLE DESIGN TO THE WHOLE PROGRAM ## Deadline information the whole program must be completed and of satisfactory working condition by 15th august 2001 so completed programs must be viewable for checking well before this date
