I am an experienced VB applications programmer that is struggling with a piece of lower level systems stuff and would like some help for which I am willing to pay. The project is an automation application that runs in unattended batch mode and needs to interact with a proprietary 32 bit console app (DOS style application). The DOS app is launced by my automation app which needs to read its output, examine the results (which I will do) and return appropriate replies until eventually closing down the DOS app and the console it ran in. The DOS app is in itself a console, asking the user to enter details at its own ">" prompt. This is exactly the same as typing "FTP" and entering commands at the FTP prompt. In fact, using FTP is a perfect test platform.
## Deliverables
1) A bas module containing calls to : a) Launch the DOS app (eg. FTP). b) Send commands to the running DOS apps prompt. c) Read the DOS apps response to each command. d) Close the DOS app/process/console/?? e) Ability to run without user input (batch mode) 2) A test form with a text box to enter a command, another text box displaying the apps responses and a command button to send the commands. 3) Distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
## Platform
Primarily this will run on WinNT, Win2K, WinXP Pro. The ability to function on Win95/98 platforms is considered a "nice to have" but not essential.
