Alternate for Sendkeys (Vb6)
$30-100 USD
Paid on delivery
In my VB program 1. I need to be able to recognize the color of a word selected from an external document (MS Word, Outlook or Outlook Express). 2. I also need an alternate for the totally unreliable Sendkeys "^a" (Select all) for similar documents.
Additional information at user request:
What I am doing is a spellcheck (Irish Language)on text from any readable text document. Currently, I Copy selected text into my own Rich text box and perform the function from there. Instead of the squiggly line in MS misspells I use a unique color. Double Clicking such a misspell brings up a possibilities listbox. The user can select a replacement by an item check, or delve into the grammar by item selection which in the end yields appropriate parts of the selected words. Selection of one of the returned parts is then a candidate for automatic replacement of the misspelled word. This seems complicated but it's rather slick.
At the end of this process then user clicks a repaste button to replace the original external text.
Problems:
1. Using SendKeys on my own code is OK: Sendkeys "^a",wait
Sendkeys "^c", wait works fine
2. On the receiving end it's a tossup as to whether for Select all, and Paste will work. Sometimes Yes, sometimes NO and I can't figure out why.
If I made this work consistently what I would really like to do is make my processing transparent to the user. That is, copy the marked text (not visible to the user) back to the original document. Then I would like to be able to recognize a colored (misspelled) word when it is interrogated so that I can do my possibilities thing. (Normally interrogation of any word results in a proper dictionary/grammar/theaurus/sound response. Thus I and the user must recognise what is an error word and what is not.
