Can't access files stored in FTP via Drupal File Browser

We have a website built in Drupal. We upload many files to FTP and have, in the past, used the FileBrowser function in Drupal to add files to appear on the front end of the website. ie. Accessing the filebrowser gave us a full list, in Drupal, of all the files we put in in folders in the FTP. This gave us the ability to select from that list on Drupal and insert files directly from there. This functionality was important, because when we wanted to update a particular file, if the file was on several pages throughout the website, we would only need to update the file in FTP and the document that displayed on the website would be updated, on all pages, in one step. That function is not working anymore. I've attached a document with screenshots of error messages and further description. Would love to get this fixed once and for all.
