I wish to convert 11 asp files to php files. The files involve checking logins for registered users, adding new users to a database that have successfuly paid a fee via PayPal. The most complex file is the one that serves up test items, one item at a time from an access database. The file selects all test items that meet the criteria given by the user, assigns a randomn number to each item and then serves as many items as requested either 10 or 25 items. My problem is that the webserver I run uses Apache and the operating system is Fedora 5. So to run my asp scripts I have to use a Microsoft server, so far I am able to do that for free but I would like to move asp to my server. Hence the desire to convert to php and mysql. I have tried the conversion but was unable to wrap my head around the changes required. You can see the files in action here [login to view URL] In addition to the files I may have some questions re setting up the fields in the mysql database. It is my intention to export the data from access and import it into MySQL. I have done this before on an earlier edition of Linux and MySQL but I may have some questions.

The question was asked do I want you to set up the database in MySQL. Since that has to be done on my server I intend to do that but I expect you will have to set up the database on your system to test the files, that is why I included all the files. I have exported the info from access and imported it into an earlier version of MySQL using the command line and I should be able to do this again but if possible I would like to be able to ask questions if I run into trouble. If I had to ask you to do the exprt and import that would be a separate contract. TTYS John
