dhtml css layout rearranger

This is an interesting project to make a layout editor. The API for the webmaster will be a single function, insertEditBlock(), which provides the following functionality in an HTML file: * allows user to rearrange contents of a page using a simple drag & drop GUI (see attached image) * the html is stored as a set of nodes in an xml file. * HTML elements are: ~ Text - simple html. Allowable tags are: b,i,p,br,ul,li,etc. ~ Input - simple survey items. combination of a description and input items. ~ Media - images, and swf. All media is enclosed in a simple (table) * Media elements can be positioned in the left, middle, right, within a (div/) * User can rearrange the page by dragging handles, as in [login to view URL] As user drags, the item jumps to the nearest available location. * User can also rearrange the page by clicking the little control icons (up, down) * When an image is in the middle, there is no text wrapping. Two adjacent images are placed side byt side. * HTML is stored in an XML file. The XML file contains many items. The function uses the XML in a node, (block) ... (/block) * When user modifies the web interface, use xhttprequest to modify the xml file. * User can edit text by clicking EDIT button. This allows them to edit ALL the text up to the next input or media element. This may include multiple (p) * If user moves a Media element up or down, they can move it to any (p) break. * A draft UI is attached. We will discuss the exact functionality and structure of the XML file later. * The contents of the PHP file are not relevant. When the function insertEditBlock() is called, the Nth node (block/) in a file, edit/[login to view URL], is modified. * Must work in all major browsers, including mac safari (we will provide VNC test). * Most code will be in [login to view URL] Thank you, we look forward to your bid. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform linux, php, ajax, xml * Must work in Mac Safari, as well as all major browsers. You can often test Safari using Konqueror on linux. WE can also set up a VNC test client for you.
