code for odds comparison/sport arbitrage

We are currently working on a sports bookmaker odds comparison project. With limited knowledge of PHP we have been able to program the spiders getting the data from feeds into a mySQL-database, we have trouble writing the code to do the work after that (link sporting events to each other - which is not the main problem - , but most of all compare the odds and highlight arbitrage opportunities in a speedy, efficient way).

We have written a script that does this, but the time to actually run it is not satisfactory (too long), since we have plans to expand the project using data from many many bookmakers/exchanges.. Therefore, we're not looking for a script that merely works, **but a script that works fast and efficient, and offers room for expansion**.

We need someone who, by means of example, can write one specific piece of code for comparing odds of one specific market (let's say Over/Under Goals, with two bookmakers and one betting exchange, Back/Back and Back/Lay, and with regards to different Totals, we will provide you with an export of a database containing the odds, as well as totals). The emphasis should be on **efficient, fast code, which only does what is necessary and nothing more**. The code also should be written neatly and with clear explanations, so we can later make adjustments as the project progresses.

Obviously, we would prefer someone with any experience in this kind of project, as well as an understanding of the betting-terminology we just used above. It should be little work for an experienced coder.

If the cooperation goes well, we will definitely consider using the coder for later stages in this project.
