My goal is to get a PHP function written that will accept a file path as input and will create and save a jpg image of the first frame in a .wmv file.
Example:
$pathToThumb = CreateThumbNail('/home/[login to view URL]');
The above function should return a string which is the path to the jpeg of the first frame of the .wmv file.
I believe this can be done use ffmpeg (<[login to view URL]>). I have root access to my fedora server and can install whatever is needed in order to make this work. I'm an experienced programmer but I have not used ffmpeg.
I'm open to suggestions, if you know of a better way the jpeg can be created without use ffmpeg please let me know.
