This project was started and not completed by my previous coder. I am looking to wrap it up. The project involves creating a database that will help me manage a growing collegiate rowing team. I currently am employed as head coach but would like this database to be proprietary to me so I can use it as I move to different universities within my coaching career. In describing the project, I will provide real-life examples to better illustrate the database’s functions.
The website that hosts the database is [[login to view URL]][1]
**Challenge**
As a coach, there are two primary difficulties in managing information
1) collecting data
2) analyzing data
I need a database to take care of information for me
**Project Overview**
I would like each athlete to have an “account?? that tracks his information through his four years as a collegiate rower or coxswain (the little guys who steer the boats).
I would like for athletes to submit their information into the account and then be able to access it for themselves. I would be able to pull reports in spreadsheet and graph form with their information to do collective comparisons.
**Infrastructure**
The accounts could either be actual programs on each athlete’s personal computers that then automatically generates an email to be send to me. That email could be populated in a certain way that is compatable with the database on my personal computer.
Alternatively, the accounts could be web-based with log-ins that feed to the database that is also hosted there.
Alternatively, the database is hosted on my machine, and the third-party server that hosts the “accounts?? sends special-formatted emails to my account that then populates my database seamlessly.
Please see attached file for more thorough project description.
