Seeking coder capable of completing the MS Exchange anti-spam plugin project we write the spec together for. Initial job is spec writing so that we define the scope and deliverables properly for both parties sake. You should be intimately familiar with MS Exchange. We have a functioning Sendmail milter and new-protocol-UDP query-response system which has been functioning well for several yesrs. We wish to duplicate to the extent possible, similar "UDP query client" and the milter action functionality in an MS Exchange plugin. Familiarity needed with UDP packets, DNS, RFCs related to email and anti-spam. We have a protocol spec nearly ready to submit to the IETF as an Internet Draft. The spec for the creation of the MS Exchange plugin should contrast what functions of the current milter are possible to reproduce in an MS Exchange plugin, any functions which cannot be reproduced in an MS Exchange plugin, as well as any enhanced functions or work arounds. The spec should provide all that is needed for us to place a bid request on RAC. We state that the job is to CO-write it because of our role in critiquing and adjusting that the spec meets our needs and acheives similar functionality to our existing *nix based system. When reading the draft protocol spec, bear in mind that only the UDP portion will be implemented in the MS Exchange plugin, not the HTTP fallback portion. Also bear in mind that the protocol spec IS NOT a description of functionality of our currently functioning milter and desired MS Exchange plugin, which performs functions including extracting connecting IP and envelope-from during the SMTP conversation, accepting or rejecting messages based on score returned from the external query server, and inserting X-headers into email messages which are accepted. The query server has been functioning for years and is not part of this project other than to answer queries from the MS Exchange plug in we are writing the spec for. SIQ protocol draft - this describes the UDP packets that will be sent from the MS Exchange plug in and returned back to it: [url removed, login to view]
