Using a TV tuner capture card on Windows XP on a 24/7 basis, I want the BMM to record video of one local channel (from antenna or cable source) 24/7. The resulting video and transcript files can be saved as one gigantic file, or divided into daily files MEDIA PLAYER The media player should have 5 buttons: play, rewind, fast forward, 10 second replay, 30 second skip TRANSCRIPT (right hand drawer in screen shot) To make searching for relevant clips less cumbersome, I want the BMM to keep a date and timestamped transcript of the closed captioning data on line 21 of the TV broadcast. The transcript should be linked to the video being shown, so as the movie plays, the transcript scrolls up. In closed captioning convention, the symbol ">>" signifies a new speaker, it might be more intuitive if the date and time stamp just appear at the line before the ">>" instead of having the date and time stamp at the beginning of every line. Or said differently, the date and time stamps should appear only after a carriage return. KEYWORD SEARCHING (left hand drawer in screen shot) Using the search box, I want to be able to search for keywords like DOCTOR or PAIN just like in my screen shot. KEYWORD ANALYSIS (left hand drawer in screen shot) To make searching more autonomous, I want to be able to save keywords and have the keywords and their results appear in a collapsible tree structure in the left hand drawer. There should also be a small tickbox(#) beside the time to help the person using the program keep track of what he has examined. CLIP EXPORTING (Main window/middle panel) To go to a specific frame, the user should be able to use the movie slider. To select the beginning of the export clip, the user can either input the specific time code or click on the start button. To select the end of the export clip, the user can either input the specific time code or click on the end button. Click on the export button to export the video clip and the accompanying transcript.
