As for the project spec, here are some comments. Aiding the user to choose. Not a problem. I'm thinking, "swipe though style" modern interface with info about the product on top. Making at easy and pleasurable for the user to decide. Maybe you already have something in mind, design-wise? Providing your recipes in the app. Not a problem. User saved local Recipes/Data Again, not a problem. User submitting of recipes & Contest Now this part is little vague. Sounds like we're now heading into networking, servers, syncing, etc. That's a much bigger job in comparison to locally minded native app. All doable, but personally I'd advise against it. Better to start simple and later expand. Languages (seen on website) You most likely want to internationalize the app so that it can be localized in all 10 regions you support on the website. Design Do you have a designer, and if so, is he/she experienced in native app design? Looking at the website it feels modern and that an adapted design would work well in a native app. Time & Money It's hard to give any numbers for a budget before I know more about the recipe sharing and the contest thing.
