Big Data - real time analytics. This sounds fun. The questions is how big is the data, and how much does the user need to play with in the browser to get it real time. We can look at cloudera, hortonworks, pivotal, splunk, datastax. If its really big data we can do a Hadoop file system. but if its manageable the real issue is what we do in the browser - websql, or can we make the sample size small enough to be just in memory. Then we get the real fun of working the interface, I think everything should be in one screen, and we move sliders, or drop and drag. Something like Jqueryui would be a great start, do we need mobile access? Ive been working with some horse data and that means mobile and we have found that quite tricky.
