Hello, As for the static content, i am assuming that would be provided by you which need not to be updated, they must be something like static html pages like Privacy Policy, Terms of usage, etc. As for the newsfeed section, there will be screen that would display a list of news fetched from your API (through pagination technique), a news detail screen will be opened whenever user taps on a news list item. I would use Retrofit for the API based communicated, first i would check if the internet is available, if it is then i will hit the API to fetch the data that would be automatically parsed by retrofit. I would need to design a model class based on the JSON feed returned by your API, whose objects would be populated by the retrofit. If there is a requirement that the news feed should automatically be updated, then i would have to add the push notification functionality, soon as the app receives a push notification, i would show a notification icon on the top bar of the mobile screen that displaying " New feeds available" or whatever the text should by (as per your suggestion), clicking on that notification will take the user directly to the news feed screen where news details would be downloaded , parsed and shown. If the requirement is to download the news data in background after every x interval, i will use AlarmManager based triggers to start a background service to download the news. Hi, to implement your needed system we could use the api of the website (if your website provides one), an rss feed (if it provides too), or last solution, not the most relevant but the only one possible if both others are not available, to get html text and then scrape data directly in the application (it's not the best because the html will be heavier than others solutions due to useless data for us in that).
