Hi, the task is to add two additional functionalities to an already existing demo-app for IPad. 1. **Chinese Character Stroke Order recognition**:Assuming that the student has choosen a character in advance, he should be able to *practice on the correct stroke order for that particular character. Please note for this demo version, this feature should be applicable for only a total of **seven(7)** Chinese characters.* 2. **Chinese Character recognition**: While writing a Chinese character the programme should be able to recognize what character you have written by suggesting similar characters. Probably using some kind of OCR. *Please note for this demo version, this feature should be applicable for only a total of **seven(7)** Chinese characters.* Please see "Detailed Requirements" for more information. Best regards, Daniel ## Deliverables Hi, the task is to add two additional functionalities to an already existing demo-app for IPad. It is an educational app, coded by a friend (not really a programmer and therefore did not know how to programme the rest) intended for Swedish beginners who wants to learn Chinese. More specific, the two functionalities that should be embedded are as given: 1. **Chinese Character Stroke Order recognition**: The student taps with the finger at one of the characters (in the *first sentence*) and are presented with two icons, the first is e.g "CCSOR" ( the second one please see below). Then he chooses from one of the seven characters *to practice on the correct stroke order for that particular character*. Afterwards the student should receive feedback e.g "Correct" or "Not correct". Please note that this should be applicable only for one sentence (the first, please see attachment, "LiBoNiLaiDeZhenZao Stroke Order Schemes"). More specific, this functionality should be applicable for a total of seven Chinese characters (please see attachment) Please also note that the attachment "LiBoNiLaiDeZhenZao Stroke order schemes" includes detailed stroke order schemes for all the above characters i.e the schemes could work as a facit. 2. **Chinese Character recognition** The student taps with the finger at one of the characters (in the *first sentence as above*) and are presented with two icons, the second e.g "CCR", (the first one please see above). While writing a Chinese character the programme should be able to recognize what you have written by suggesting similar characters. This probably includes some sort of OCR. For this version, this functionality should be applicable only for one sentence (the first, please see attachment). For example, when one of the seven Chinese character is chosen and the student writes the strokes, the OCR should be able to recognize and suggest similar characters. In this demo-app, *the only characters the programme should suggest is one of the seven above*. For example if you choose: (pinyin "l?"), and starts writing the strokes the only character similar to that character is the character itself i.e ( "l?"). But when you write the first stroke in either ("Ni") or ("De"), which both begins with an identical stroke, the OCR-programme should recognize this and present **both** these two characters. But when you write the second stroke, there are no more similarities i.e only one character should be presented (either "Ni" or "De") Other useful links are as follows: Please refer to: <[login to view URL]>). A free and downloadable *CC-CEDICT* database, "a complete downloadable **Chinese to English dictionary** with pronunciation in pinyin for the Chinese characters" . Used by [login to view URL] [login to view URL] <[login to view URL]> <[login to view URL]> The setup, to begin with only seven(7) Chinese characters, is just a suggestion to make it simpler for you as a programmer. Do you know a way on how to incorporate the above functionalities for the entire "CC-CEDICT" database (around 5000 Chinese characters), within reasonable time, I'm all ear! Attached for your convenience is the demo-app and the stroke order schemes. **************************************'*************************************************************** **Update 20120531 Please also look at the following and the attached amended Zip-file :** [login to view URL] [login to view URL] If a Chinese character is pressed, the word it is part of is to become highlighted (shift color or such) and a pop-up window display an excerpt from the CC-Cedict database (**[login to view URL])** showing information about the word, and it's separate characters. Such as -??(keyi), (one word but two characters) or attached clavis sinica file See [login to view URL] This is a suggestion from our side to a program that can be incorporated as a widget, but if you have other suggestions we are more than happy to listen. Please download trial version and incorporate in the iBook. If it works well we will pay for the full version. [login to view URL] We want everything from [login to view URL] in our own iBook based on our design ************************************'*********************************************************************************** Please read everything carefully before bidding and please feel free to ask if there are any questions. Best regards, Daniel
